Tobogganing in Meransen/Maranza: At the western end of our village (approx. 2 minutes away by car), you can go on a wonderful toboggan outing. Proceed for
approx. 1 hour on foot on a broad forest trail in the idyllic winter forest until you come to the Moser Hut; from there, you can toboggan back down.
Another possibility is to come on the Gitschberg aerial tram; after arriving at the mid-point station you can then toboggan back down into the valley.
And if natural weather conditions aren't at their best, there is also the option of visiting the artificial snow toboggan launching course in Meransen/Maranza;
that's also where the international teams practice starting. The course is 300 meters long and can also be used for timing. Weekly visitors' races are held here,
and all comers are welcome to participate. The track is absolutely safe, and suitable even for beginners and children. The special toboggans are provided by the track
operators.
Tobogganing in Vals/Valles: At the end of the Val/Valles Valley, at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea-level, there's a narrow, 3-km-long serpentine way
leading to the Fane Alm. After the one-hour ascent, the tobogganers reach the beautiful Fane Alm (1,739 meters above sea-level) with its charming little church and its
rustic Alpine refuge hut, in a pristine and romantic mountain setting. Two of these huts are hosted. The descent is about three kilometers long and spans 300 meters of
altitude differential, and is sure to meet the expectations of every tobogganing enthusiast. (Nevertheless, one shouldn't underestimate the steepness of the incline,
but rather maintain control at all times.)
You are welcome to borrow sleds directly from us at the hotel.
