The
sunny village of Maranza is located at 1400 m on a sunny panoramic terrace at the entry to the Puster Valley in South Tyrol. With more than
280 days of sun this high-alpine plateau is one of the sunniest places in South Tyrol. The idyllic mountain village with almost 1000 inhabitants provides a fascinating view over the
Puster Valley, the
Isarco Valley and the
Dolomites. From the viewpoint at Gitschberg you can see more than 500 mountain summits – Dolomites, Zillertal Alps, Stubai Alps and Ötztal Alps!

In summer Maranza is a great place for
family hikes, for adults and children, alike. You can explore 30 lush alpine meadows and stop at one of the mountain huts for some cool refreshments or a bite to eat. At the same time, your children can play at the mountain brook or conquer a couple of mountain peaks (from easy to medium-difficulty). So there‘s something for everybody here!

Maranza at Gitschberg in winter
A snow-covered landscape awaits you for skiing in winter! The
Gitschberg / Jochtal ski resort offers 44 km of perfectly groomed slopes and is very family-friendly. In addition to skiing, you can enjoy winter hikes, snow-shoe hikes, sledging and of course building snowmen or having a snowball fight.
