Cities in South Tyrol

Small, elegant, special!

The Bishop‘s Town of Bressanone
The medieval town of Bressanone is a paradise for shoppers, with its large number of shops and boutiques. But it is a town with a rich history, boasting monasteries, strongholds, and churches which still testify to its past glory. There are also arcades and parks where you can stop and rest for a while and enjoy the beauty. You can undertake day trips to Bressanone, enjoy a wonderful shopping spree, and finish the day in the picturesque Old Town district.

The Provincial Capital of Bolzano

Bolzano is the provincial capital of South Tyrol. It lies to the south of the Alps and in the north of Italy, in the midst of a unique natural landscape of unparalleled beauty. The city itself boasts an appealing variety of restaurants featuring Italian and Austrian cuisine. Bolzano is renowned for its rows and rows of boutiques, markets, and gourmet shops located in close proximity to each other. Visitors who have come to the city for a lengthy shopping spree or to go hiking in the nearby mountains will also find a rich variety of cultural offers. The Museum of Archaeology has a permanent exhibition on the 5,400-year-old mummy - the world-renowned "Ice Man".

Brunico at the Rienza River (approx. 25 km) A city as ever-changing as the seasons of the year - the picturesque city of Brunico is the heart and soul of the verdant Puster Valley, not only due to its central location, but also because of its practically inexhaustible range of recreational and leisure time activities. First mentioned in written documents in 1256, Brunico soon advanced to become the economic centre of the Puster Valley. Today, this town fulfils all the prerequisites for an interesting but also relaxing day.

Vipiteno (approx. 30 km) The city of the famed Fugger merchants - a city featuring both medieval flair and modern charm: that‘s how modern-day tourists experience Vipiteno. This little jewel set in a breath-taking beautiful landscape, stretching from Campo di Trens and Val di Vizze. Meadows and forests, rolling hills and glaciers, a pristine natural environment: a perfect balance of city and country.
