Your hiking holidays in South Tyrol

A pleasure for your senses: hiking during all seasons!! Maranza and the holiday region Gitschberg / Jochtal are ideal for walks and hikes through fairytale-like forests, blooming meadows and panoramic viewpoints. Numerous hiking paths and theme paths especially for families await you! Many paths are also accessible with prams and suitable for small children. Great fun for all children: the splashing streams. Here you can cool down your feet, let boats float or throw stones into the water. You will simply love the choice of alpine pastures…with more than 30 alpine pastures this area has the most alpine pastures in South Tyrol! On most pastures you'll find public huts which are definitely worth the ascent.

All of our guests receive the Almencard free of charge. With this card you can use numerous cable cars for free. We also provide buggies and carrying backpacks free of charge!

Our hiking tips… especially for children:
  • Fane Pasture, a former alpine village with a long history. The path to Fane Pasture is called the Milk Trail with numerous illustrations and charts explaining this "white gold" and milk production. This path is also accessible with prams!
  • the Altafossa Valley – an unspoiled, idyllic valley. This path is also accessible with prams!
  • Rodengo Pasture - also accessible with prams! Rodengo Pasture is a high-alpine plateau from where you enjoy a view of the Bressanone valley basin and the Isarco Valley, a splendid view of the Dolomites, Sasso Putia Mountain, Odles d'Eroes and Funes!
  • to the "Stoanmandl" – a little stone man
  • Fundres Valley: this 1-hour hike leads through unspoiled nature and is ideal for families!
  • From grain to bread… is the motto of a hike taking place in the village of Terento every Monday. The hike leads along Terento River, past the pyramids and to some 500-year old water-driven corn mills. With a visit to the mills and grinding flour!
